2. Enforce the “Chat is for Pointers” Rule. Train your team to use chat to point to the system of truth, not to replace it.
- Bad: “Hey, the client wants to change the background color to blue on the V2 design.”
- Good: “Hey, I just updated the client requirements in the project tracker. They requested a blue background for V2. [insert link].”
3. Build for Your Actual Bottlenecks. Off-the-shelf chat apps are generic software bandages. They cover up the fact that your underlying operational systems aren’t built for the way your team actually works.
